• Accepted Insurance Plans

  • I'm an "in-network" provider with the following commercial plans.
    

    • Anthem/Blue Cross Blue Shield
      

    • Aetna
      

    • Sentara Health Plans (formerly Optima Health)

  • ​​ I do not accept Medicaid or Medicare plans.               
    

• Out-of-Network Reimbursement

  • For other insurance plans:  As a licensed clinical psychologist, my fees qualify for "out-of-network" reimbursement. ​

    • Most insurance plans have “out-of-network” provider coverage which covers a percentage of my fee (typically between 40-80%).
      

    • ​Please note, however, that Medicare does not reimburse for out-of-network services. 
      

  • It may be helpful to call your insurance provider prior to scheduling your appointment to verify "out-of-network" coverage.  Here are some questions you may want to ask them:
    

    • Does my plan have out-of-network provider coverage to see a licensed clinical psychologist?
      

    • If so, is there a deductible for out-of-network coverage? Have I met my deductible for this calendar year?
      

    • Is there a co-pay to see an out-of-network provider?
      

    • How much will I be reimbursed for a 80 minute initial evaluation and a 60 minute follow-up visit?
      

    • How many therapy sessions are covered?
      

  • ​​​I am here to help you navigate this process and make it as simple as possible.  I am happy to provide documentation (in the form of an invoice with billing and diagnostic codes) on a monthly basis that you could submit to your insurance provider.  It is your responsibility to file the appropriate paperwork with your insurance provider to receive reimbursement.​​
